Collaboration with Nanotures, winner of the JEC Innovation Award

In collaboration with Nanotures, company awarded the JEC Innovation Award, MEL Composites actively participated in the technical definition of the materials and manufacturing processes used in one of the most demanding structural projects in the sports sector.

The joint work focused on the materials engineering for the composite roof trusses of 75 meters in length of the Real Madrid Football Club stadium, a large-scale structure with high technical complexity, where weight optimization and structural reliability were critical factors.

MEL Composites supplied key materials for the manufacturing process, including high-performance epoxy resins, carbon fiber and fiberglass reinforcements, spray adhesives, and a wide range of vacuum consumables. These materials were selected and validated jointly with the technical team to ensure mechanical performance, process repeatability, and final laminate quality.

In addition to supplying materials, MEL contributed to the development and optimization of the infusion process, supporting the definition of critical parameters and ensuring the correct integration of vacuum systems in a large-format geometry.

The combination of Nanotures' technical expertise in advanced structures and MEL's knowledge in composite materials and manufacturing processes allowed for a high level of control in production, ensuring the technical feasibility of a reference structure at an international level.
