ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION

Architecture and construction are becoming increasingly important markets for composites materials as architects, designers and engineers seek to exploit the low weight and almost unlimited design freedom offered by composite structures. Facades, domes, roofs and cladding structures as well as beams, pillars, and bridges are just a few examples of architectural structures now using composites.

MEL Composites has a long history of work in the architectural and construction sector, supporting clients from initial design concept through to material delivery and production supervision. MEL has been proud to partner with customers on some amazing composite structures such as the 75m carbon fibre roof beams for the new Real Madrid football stadium, the Bibiloteca Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the composite drainage system for the new Atletico Madrid stadium and the roof of the extension of the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao.
